Over the summer our GSL Paul visited Norway as part of the UK's contingent to Roverway 2024. From 22 - 27 July, participants explored a 'path. Each UK patrol was joined by several patrols from other countries, spread across Norway, as park of a semi-independent explorations around the regions. Paths provided an opportunity for participants to explore a local area, plus a programme theme like adventure, culture or creative. Through living, cooking and working together, participants from different countries learned to share languages, cultures, and experiences.

On 27 July, all 5,000 participants joined for a large camp near Stavanger. Stavanger is often called 'the gateway to the fjords', and its location on the west coast gave us the most scenic of campsites. The camp was a chance to share stories from their paths and to take part in a programme of activities with young people from across Europe and beyond.

The UK Contingent post-event experience included a day of activities at Sola Beach, an overnight ferry to Denmark and two days to explore the capital city, Copenhagen, before travelling home.
