Aldwark kit list and details

Below is a list of what the young person will need whilst they are away, this list is not exhaustive, but contains items they MUST bring.
Full Uniform
Sleeping Bag
Roll Mat/Self Inflating Roll Mat
Warm Sweater, Jumper, or Sweatshirt
T-Shirt or Similar
Underclothes
Nightwear
Torch and Spare Batteries
3 Towels
Sun Hat
Polythene/Plastic Bags for Wet Clothes
Sun Cream - Minimum Factor 15 (even if cloudy, the reflection of sun off the water will cause sunburn quickly)
Large Rucksack or Holdall
Waterproof Jacket and Trousers
Fleece
Hiking Boots or Strong Shoes
Training Shoes
Trousers and Shorts
Socks (Selection of Thick and Thin)
Personal Wash Kit
Tea Towel
Wolly Hat and Gloves
Old Pair of Trainers or Plimsoles (You will not be allowed to canoe in bare feet and don't mind getting wet)
Windproof Jacket (the river is very gusty)
Optional Items:
Gaiters
Camp Blanket
Personal First Aid Kit
You DO NOT need crockery and cutlery as Aldwark will provide these.
If you wish, bring a maximum of £5 spending money (Aldwark or scouting will not be responsible if this goes missing).
Extra Information:
The Scout needs at least 5 changes of clothes for the weekend as they will be getting wet.
Penknives are NOT allowed of this Scout camp unless prior permission by the camp leader is given.
All items should be clearly marked with the young persons name.
Do not use a suitcase to pack your items in, it is not suitable for use in a tent. We have a limited number of spare kit bags available in our stores, please speak to a Ben if you wish to borrow one, please note these are first come first served.
The young person should be encouraged to sort out and pack their own kit for themselves, with adult supervision.
The young person will be travelling to and from the camp in their uniform so this should not be packed, but worn.
Do not bring jeans because they will be inadequate in the cold and wet.
All medication should have the young persons name, group, and what dosage and times clearly labelled on the bottle or packet.
DO NOT bring chewing gum, Aldwark has a ban on site.
DO NOT bring mobile phones, smart watches, tablets, or other electronic devices. The Scout Association cannot be held responsible for any lost/damaged items.
